FAQ

Good questions, answered.

Everything you might want to know before booking a PhotographyAtYours session.

Booking & how it works

How do I book a PhotographyAtYours session?

Booking starts with a conversation — call, text, or WhatsApp us with your occasion, date, and the mood you're after. We'll discuss the shots that matter most, match you with the right photographer, and confirm everything before the booking is locked. No online forms, no automated replies. A real person handles every booking.

The pre-booking conversation is where most of the important work happens — it's how we make sure your photographer shows up knowing exactly what you need.

How much notice do I need to book?

We recommend booking at least a few days in advance for a simple portrait session, and two to four weeks for larger events or milestone celebrations. Weekends fill fastest — the earlier you reach out, the better your options. For urgent bookings, reach out and we'll do our best.

Peak dates (holidays, long weekends, December) book weeks ahead. If you have a firm date, don't wait.

Do you quote a price before confirming?

Yes, always. We give you a clear quote based on your occasion, session length, and any extras (additional photographer, rush editing) before anything is confirmed. No surprises after the shoot.

Pricing is determined by session length, occasion type, and location. We'll be upfront about the number in the first conversation.

The session & your space

Do you shoot on location, or only at home?

Both — PhotographyAtYours sessions can happen at your home or anywhere else you'd like across the Greater Toronto Area: a park, a favourite restaurant, a scenic spot, your office, wherever suits the occasion. Just let us know your preferred location when you book.

Home is simply the default a lot of clients choose — the flexibility is entirely yours.

Do I need to tidy or prepare my space?

A little goes a long way if we're shooting at your home — clearing obvious clutter from the main areas being photographed helps, but your photographer is skilled at framing around a lived-in home. If we're shooting on location, there's nothing to prepare beyond picking the spot. We'll give you a few simple pointers before the session either way.

We're not looking for a magazine set — whether it's your real home or a spot you love, we'll make it work, well lit and thoughtfully framed.

What equipment do you bring?

Your photographer arrives with professional camera bodies, a set of lenses suited to your space and occasion, and portable lighting where natural light needs a hand. Everything is set up quickly and quietly, with minimal disruption to your day.

We don't rely on a single lens or on-camera flash. This is proper professional-grade kit, chosen for your specific space and light.

Can you photograph kids and pets?

Absolutely — our family-session photographers are experienced working with young children and pets, and build in extra time for both. Patience and a relaxed pace get better, more genuine images than forced posing ever does.

Some of our favourite galleries come from sessions that didn't go 'according to plan' — that's usually where the best real moments happen.

Editing & delivery

How many photos will I receive, and how are they edited?

You'll receive a curated selection of the strongest images from your session — every delivered photo is colour-corrected and retouched as needed. We favour a curated gallery over a raw dump of every frame, so every image is one you'll actually want to keep.

Quality over quantity. We'd rather hand you 40 images you love than 400 you have to sort through.

How long until I get my photos?

Typical delivery is 5–7 business days for a standard session, delivered as a private, high-resolution digital gallery you can download and share. Rush editing is available for an additional fee if you need images sooner.

We'll confirm your expected delivery window at the time of booking, based on session type and current volume.

Areas & pricing

How much does it cost to hire a photographer in Toronto?

PhotographyAtYours pricing is based on the type of session, its length, your location, and any add-ons (a second photographer, rush editing, extended coverage). We quote the whole session upfront — no hourly surprises. Reach out for a clear number before you commit.

Every booking is priced for the whole session, not the clock. You'll know exactly what it costs before you confirm anything.

Which areas of the GTA do you serve?

PhotographyAtYours currently serves the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Oakville. If you're just outside the GTA, reach out — we'll let you know honestly if we can make it work.

We're expanding across Ontario. If your area isn't listed, ask.
